JAMES SOUTHERLAND
FOREVER 38
James Southerland was a man of immense heart and resilience, a soul who loved fiercely and lived with humor that could brighten the darkest of days. Though his life was marked by a long battle with addiction, his triumph in finding sobriety for two years was a testament to his strength and determination. Tragically, that journey was cut short by fentanyl-laced cocaine, a devastating reminder of the dangers so many face.
His family remembers him with these heartfelt words:
"My precious son was poisoned by fentanyl-laced cocaine. He battled addiction for 20 years but had been sober for 2 years. He had a huge heart and a wicked sense of humor. He loved his family and fishing."
James had a way of making the people around him feel loved and valued. His humor was quick and sharp, bringing laughter to those who needed it most. He cherished his family deeply, and the moments spent with them were his greatest treasures. Whether on the water with a fishing pole in hand or sharing stories that left everyone in stitches, James lived with a warmth and authenticity that drew people to him.
To his family, James was more than his struggles—he was their precious son, a beacon of light and love. His legacy is one of perseverance, kindness, and unforgettable moments of joy. Though his journey was far too short, his memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him, carried forward in the laughter, love, and stories he left behind.
Rest peacefully, James. You are deeply missed, eternally loved, and forever cherished.
