MICHAEL BRYCE POVEROMO
FOREVER 25
Michael Bryce Poveromo, or Mikey as everyone lovingly called him, was a soul overflowing with love and generosity. He had an incredible heart—one that shone through in every smile, every silly moment, and every selfless act. Mikey wasn’t just kind; he was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked, because helping others was as natural to him as breathing.
He wasn’t just a son; he was a momma’s boy in the truest, most beautiful sense. Their bond was unshakable, transcending even the veil of Heaven. Mikey’s presence is still felt in the signs he sends to his family, little whispers from the universe reminding them he’s never truly gone.
But Mikey’s journey wasn’t easy. He fought hard—harder than most can imagine—to stay clean and sober, to push back against the demons that tried to steal his light. Fentanyl may have taken him from this world, but it could never take the essence of who he was or the legacy he left behind.
His mother’s words, raw and full of love, capture the depth of Mikey’s spirit:
“Mikey has an amazing heart❤️ He is lovable, silly, and would give you the shirt off his back. He fought hard to stay clean and sober but fentanyl took all that away. Mikey is a momma’s boy and still is even though he’s in Heaven. He shows me signs every day. I know he would still want to continue to help addicts become sober, so that’s why I decided to put him on the wall. Even if he can help save one life, it will be worth it. My heart is in a million pieces because I miss my son sooooooo much. So if you’re reading this and you are an addict, just know my life changed the day Mikey went to Heaven because part of me died with him. No parent should have to feel this excruciating pain. Know your worth and don’t let anything have that power over you. Fight for your life. God bless you all.”
Mikey’s story is a testament to love, to the fight for hope, and to the undeniable truth that every single life is worth saving. He would want his story to inspire change, to save even one life, because that’s who Mikey was—someone who gave without hesitation, who loved with his whole heart, and who continues to shine his light from above.
To those struggling, let Mikey’s story remind you of your worth, your strength, and your right to a future free of pain. Fight for your life—you are so deeply loved.
Rest peacefully, Mikey. You are missed more than words can ever say, loved beyond measure, and remembered in every act of kindness and hope.
