Savanah Sue Gunnells
FOREVER 20
January 5, 2001 — January 5, 2021
Millington, Tennessee
Savanah “Vana” Sue Gunnells brought joy to her family and friends from the day she was born. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 5, 2001, Vana was bright, determined, and had a smile that could light up any room. Her laugh was unforgettable and infectious, and her love for those around her ran deep. She was a devoted big sister and a caring friend, always there for the people she loved. Vana worked hard in school and graduated a year early, a testament to her strength and determination.
Vana’s life was filled with love, especially for her late daughter, Laklynn, who was her pride and joy. As she got older, she faced struggles and challenges, leaning on pills as a way to cope. Tragically, she lost her life to fentanyl, and the person who sold her the fake pill left her alone, they were seen on camera leaving the house.
Savanah was more than her struggles. She was a beloved daughter to Christy, James, and her stepmother Dee; a cherished sister to Jodi; a loving step-sibling to Johnna, Chase, and Gavon; and a niece, cousin, and friend to countless others who loved her dearly. Her cat, Mufasa, brought her comfort, and she shared a special bond with him. She is remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and everyone who was lucky to have known her.
Her passing leaves a tremendous loss, but her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. Vana will be deeply missed and remembered with love, forever treasured for the warmth, laughter, and kindness she brought to the world.
